Maybe you’re a health conscious person who already chooses nourishing foods. OR perhaps you’ve always wanted to eat healthier and exercise more but life (and maybe a candy bar or two) keep getting in the way.

Here’s how it works.

Change doesn’t happen overnight and let’s be honest, pregnancy is a bit of a roller coaster (if you haven’t already noticed). What works for you at 9 weeks might not work at 29 weeks. Plus there are ever-changing nutritional requirements as your pregnancy progresses (that your doctor might not know about).

With that in mind, I require a 2 month commitment for new clients (because it’s not just about knowing what to do, it’s about actually doing it).

90 minute initial consultation. Let’s dig into the details! I need to know more about you, not just your medical history and all the numbers, but your favorite foods, biggest health challenges, and fears about this pregnancy. We’ll cover:

  • Prenatal nutrition requirements
  • Pregnancy myths (there are many)
  • How to manage common complaints (like nausea or constipation)
  • Safe exercise for your stage in pregnancy (it changes month by month)
  • Review of your 3 day food record and key changes to make
  • Discuss weight gain goals

While we cover a lot in this visit, I’ll make sure you walk away with clear action steps to take before your first follow up.

Consult 2 (60 minutes; one week after initial consultation). The first week is a period of transition. You are a question machine (as you should be!), so we’ll get them all answered, review your progress, and keep you moving forward on your healthy pregnancy journey. We’ll come up with new action steps to take before your next follow up appointment.

Consults 3-5 (60 minutes; spaced 2 weeks apart). At each visit, we’ll review your goals and assess progress. No two visits are the same and I’m as much a medical voice of reason as I am an emotional support system.

Based on your gestational age (how many weeks along you are), I help you adjust your diet to optimize nutrition for your baby. I can also help you understand when certain tests will be run (like screening for gestational diabetes), so you know what to expect at your check-ups.

Beyond that, you set the agenda for our visit. You might want to spend the time planning nourishing meals, discussing modifying recipes to make them healthier, simplifying your grocery shopping, or altering your workout routine to be both safe and supportive to a healthy pregnancy.

Email support through weekly review of your food diary. You’re encouraged to email your food diary each week, so I can support you with your goals. I’m not in the business of playing food police, but my years as a prenatal nutritionist have taught me that staying accountable between visits is key to your success.
